Mapping your support system

Maya
Maya CBT Therapist

Isolated clients, anyone going through a major life change, depressed clients who insist they have “no one,” and clients who lean entirely on a single person (often a partner or parent) for every kind of support. The exercise often reveals that the client has more people available than they realised, and that nobody is the right fit for some of the categories.

The form has 2 fields. “Who can help you in each kind of way” is a repeating block with at least 8 rows, each with 2 sub-fields (short-text, short-text).

A clinical note worth holding: categories left blank. A client with nobody to laugh with, or nobody who can be honest with them, has a real gap. Also: the same name appearing in every category usually points to over-reliance on one person, which is a relationship vulnerability worth naming.

In my-cbt, this is a bundled worksheet you can preview from the library and assign from the case file. The personal message at the top is how you tailor it to this client. Each submission saves to the file with a timestamp. The repeating sections expand on screen instead of running out of room in a margin.

How do you know it's right for you.
